Personal Foundations
Shannon Laurence-Bade began her journey as an infant with horses in New Zealand, and eventually landing a job with a racing stable who spent her over with horses to Australia. Shannon spent many years working within the Thoroughbred industry collecting many of her own misunderstood horses along the way. Every horse has a lesson to teach if you are ever so willing to learn, and each of these damaged horses taught her lessons and helped her understand how to understand them.
Shannon then begun working for herself specialising in the handling of horses, and found herself handling hundreds of Thoroughbred foals setting them up for an easier life in a more demanding career, over 15 years she worked with Thoroughbred foals, Quarterhorses, heavy horses and during this time handled many older horses who were scared, untrusting, damaged or traumitised.
In the more recent years, Shannon has had the opportunity to work with Australia's very own horse population, the Brumby. Working throughout different rescues in Australia, with individual owners and collecting her own brumbies some that were also deemed "difficult", "unsafe" or "hard to handle". These brumbies were finally heard and even enjoy the company of little humans leading, brushing and loving them.
Shannon is now offering the opportunity to join her in her "A Focus On Foundation" clinics, where you can take the opportunity to learn how to better understand your own horse, prepare yourself for a life with equines, or further your own skills with an educator with over 40 years experience working with a vast variety of horses.
